If you are a paid member of the SLA, then you should have gotten an email sometime late last night telling you that voting for the name change was open. After an initial glitch, there was a second email sent out with dircections on how to vote in the official ballot. The purpose of the vote is to decide on whether or not to change the association's name to the Association for Strategic Knowledge Professionals.
Below are the instructions for voting as given in the email.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR VOTING
Go to the SLA e-vote system at http://www.sla.org/evote
Log in to the system using your SLA UserID and Password shown below
Click on the ballot name -- "2009 SLA Name Change Vote"
Review the proposed change to SLA’s name
At the bottom center of the ballot, click on the "Click to Continue" button
Review the question, then select "Yes" or "No"
Click the "Click to Continue" button
Review your selections, then click the "Vote" button
You have now completed the voting process. Congratulations!
You can view and print your receipt or exit the e-vote system
