What's in a Name?: SLA Considering Name Change

There has been an effort in recent years to change the name of the Special Libraries Association. The concept of special libraries is considered to be confusing by some, and others feel that the term librarian is limiting in the technical and business sphere. A few years ago there was a vote to change the name, but it was voted down. Another drive is being made to change the name to the Association for Strategic Knowledge Professionals or ASKPro.
